SkyWarn Update 2021
This year our 2021 SkyWarn training will be specialized for those in the R3D2 ARES group. A special session will be held Via Zoom on Saturday April 24, 2021. The session, provided by NOAA, will be for areas that may have issues due to last year’s fires. As of now we do not have a time of day for this event, more to come.
As ARES members we should always be prepared to communicate with whatever tools are available and fit the need. DMR communications are becoming much more widespread, and are used almost exclusively at the state level. To help us all become familiar and comfortable with this mode, we will be using DMR for the first ARES net of each moth. We will be using Talk Group 721 - Northern Colorado. If you need a code plug for your radio, take a look at the RMHam site: https://www.rmham.org/wordpress/sample-codeplugs/
